The Fastest Electric Scooters of 2020

One of the coolest things about eScooters is how fast the technology is evolving. Initially, the market quietly came to exist some years ago with relatively slow folding electric scooters that didn't have great top speeds, and really didn't have great range. All of that has changed now with the advancement of the technologies involved in creating these cool urban mobility options.

One of the craziest parts of the eScooter evolution to watch was how the advancements in technology has lead to more and more speed. Granted, I'm not sure I'd want to be riding down a city street at 50+ miles per hour on an eScooter, but it's possible to do and it's certainly within reach for those looking for their own folding electric scooters.

Below, we've made a list of the 5 best fast electric scooters of 2020. These are some of the coolest, most feature-laden electric scooters that are currently available on the market today. If you need something fast, and you need it now- these are all available and easy to get your hands on. For most of them- they're not prohibitively expensive.

When buying an eScooter, always take time to figure out if the one that you're looking at will fit your riding mission, and if it will be the best option for you. In this case, the fastest scooter may not be the best option for your daily needs. Want some tips and tricks about how to select the best folding electric scooter? Hop on over to the Buyer's Guide.

Speedway is a line of eScooters that are made by the same people who make Dualtron. Already, you've got a pretty good idea of what kind of quality and performance that means.

By the specs listed on the MiniMotors website, the Speedway 5 has a maximum cruise speed of 40 miles per hour. Powered by a 3,600 watt motor coupled with a 60 volt  23.4aH battery, you can expect to see nearly 75 miles of range in a single charge with this eScooter. The only downside here is that the Speedway 5 is a bit of a heavier eScooter- coming in at 70lbs.

Dualtron Thunder

The Dualtron Thunder was the second fastest eScooter on our list in 2019, so you can see in a year's time how far technology has grown in the eScooter industry. The Dualtron Thunder is capable of reaching 50mph- surely a very fast electric scooter. This 95lb scooter is fitted with an astonishing 5,400 watt brushless motor with is capable of running for 75miles, and is capable of climbing a grade of 47%.

With the quick charger, you could be fully charged in just over 5 hours but let it be known that if you’re using the standard charger, you’re looking at a time frame more similar to 20 hours.

Nanrobot D5+

Nanrobot’s D5+ may look decieving, but it's actually an incredibly fast eScooter.  At 70lbs, this extremely quick eScooter clocks in at a maximum speed of 53mph and it has a rider weight capacity of 330lbs! One of our favorite features of this eScooter is the 10” tires which provide an extremely comfortable ride for any scenario.

This scooter features two independent motors putting out 1000 watts of power each for a maximum power output of 2000 watts.

Although the charging time for this battery is 6-10 hours, you’ll be happy to know that you can ride for 50 miles before you’ve got to worry about charging it again.

Find this eScooter on Amazon.com.

I'm sure at this point that everyone in the eScooter community knows what a Dualtron is, but most of us have never seen the Dualtron X in person. Certainly the most expensive eScooter on this list, the Dualtron X is the second fastest eScooter on our list,  clocking in at 55 miles per hour. This is also likely the heaviest eScooter on this list at 145lbs but as with other Dualtron models, we have to assume that the center of gravity is well-placed with this one, offering a superior ride like the other Dualtron models.

the Dualtron X

This particular model is the only one on this list that comes stock with a seat. One unique design concept in this eScooter is that it has a main battery pack that was made by LG and is 60 volt/49aH, but there's a separate 60 volt/3aH battery in the stem to power lighting and accessories.

Like all other MiniMotors products, the Dualtron X is only available direct from MiniMotors.

Although you currently have to pre-order this (expected delivery in May 2020), the Falcon PEV Zero 11X is an absolute monster of a vehicle- and the fastest eScooter on our list. Speeds of 60+ miles per hour and a range of 80-90 miles on a full charge makes this one of the highest speed + longest range eScooters that has ever come to market.

If you're not familiar with the Falcon PEV eScooters, these are some of our personal favorites to ride. These include very thoughtful, sleek designs. Each individual design that Falcon offers uniquely suits a different set of riders. From the Zero 8 models to the Zero 11 models, Falcon has a great range of features and uses very high quality materials in their builds.
