A weird business move from Inboard

In a bit of an unfortunate move this week, Inboard has decided to not move forward with their plans to sell directly to consumers. Many people are upset following the news from Inboard.

Previously, the company opened up a pre-order late last year for those who wanted to buy the new G1 Glider model, but now those same people are getting all of their money returned and receiving no scooter that they were initially promised. Reddit user "Zerowantuthri" says, "They absolutely should have delivered on pre-orders first and then switched to the ride-share companies."; a statement echoed by other users.

Instead of selling directly to consumers, Inboard is apparently trying to send out their fleet with eScooter rental companies that have yet to be named. Even more weirder, the CEO says, "We hope to come back to you soon and offer you a G1 for direct ownership, but we cannot guarantee a delivery date for consumers today, so we’re going to hold off on offering the G1 direct to consumers for now." as if they're still testing out the ride share companies after having already upset the people who have pre-ordered.
