Lightweight Last Mile solutions for an easy commute

Imagine that you're a businessman or woman who wants to have an easy commute each day that doesn't involve a car. You might scoot to the train and ride it a few stops, and then get off and scoot to your office. You've got to cover about a mile or two each way on your journey on scooter, but you're thinking, "What will I do with a giant, heavy eScooter all day while I'm working?" Well, you don't necessarily have to do that because there are so many options on the market for lightweight eScooters.

One of the greatest things about the eScooter industry is that manufacturers are building something for everyone, whether you have a short and easy commute, or a long one where you need to cover a lot of ground comfortably. This list that we've created is for the former. We built it for people who like the idea of eScooters, but maybe you don't have that far to go when you travel and maybe you don't want to carry a heavy eScooter up some stairs.

Check out these cool options for the lightest eScooters that are available on the market. We built this list keeping in mind features and build quality so that you can rely on your eScooter at every turn.

the EMove 2.0

Hands down, the Voro Motors Emove 2.0 is the lightest eScooter on the market. It even says so on their website. It's amazing to think that you can still do 18 miles of distance at almost 16 miles per hour out of an eScooter that is so lightweight. It's even more amazing to see that the thickness of the footboard is only 0.9cm and it still holds up to a 264 pound rider.
Unbelievable stats from such a lightweight scooter! The scooter comes complete with an anti-glare LCD Display as well.

You can cruise around in lightweight style for only $349.

Inokim has long been known for making some of the most solidly built eScooters in the industry, and they've struck gold again when making this light electric scooter, the Inokim Mini+.

The Mini+ weights in at just 18.7 pounds which puts it at number two on our list for weight. Even with such a light frame, you'll still see over 12 miles of range while riding which is astonishing considering how small it is.

the Inokim Mini+

Inokim made a great decision when designing this scooter to use LG battery cells instead of other lesser-known or no-name battery cells. The LG battery cells have a very low failure rate and typical have a great lifespan. Buying a scooter from Inokim also means that you'll get great customer service to go with it.

You can buy one of these great eScooters for about $750.

You could read our previous review of the Mii2 eScooter and see that Mii2 has been known for some time for making an incredible and full-featured eScooter that is built to stand the test of time. Putting the Mii2 Stand on this list only makes sense. And now, the Mii2 Stand got a huge update!

the Mii2 Stand

The Stand is built just as well as the other offerings from Tel Aviv-based Mii2. If you're looking for a great eScooter in any category, these are the guys who always step to the table. With the introduction of the 2.0 model, this eScooter went from just under 20 pounds to now being just under 30 pounds, but it gained some necessary improvements and some added features along the way. It's also one of the most comfortable ones to ride from this list because the shock absorption built into this light electric scooter is fantastic. Unlike many scooters on this list, it also features a phone app so that you can set parameters of the scooter or view your riding stats. It also features an alarm built into the eScooter so that you will get an alert to your phone is something unusual is happening with your scooter when you're not paying attention.

This is a total winner for people with a short commute. In order to get your own Mii2 Stand, please visit Mii2's official website.

Fluid Free Ride City Rider

Fluid Free Ride who is also the distributor of the WideWheel has put forth their own offering of a lightweight electric scooter for the market: The Fluid Free Ride CityRider. Coming in at 28 pounds, you'll see a top speed of 18 miles per hour and a range of up to 10 miles.

This light electric scooter has a couple of advantages besides weight: It now features a wooden footboard for a wider stance. It also comes with an air-free, anti-flat tire so that you'll never have to worry about going flat while riding anywhere. This eScooter is built very well, and comes with great service and support from Fluid Free Ride.

You can have your own CityRider today for $399.

Widely regarded as the best selling lightweight scooter of all-time, the GoTrax GXL V2 ticks a lot of boxes, making it a true winner in its' class each and every time. First and foremost, it's 26.4 pounds, and you'll see a 12 mile range at 15 miles per hour on this very inexpensive light electric scooter. It has a beautiful and simple design, and is well-supported by the company. Although it doesn't have much of a suspension system, the eScooter rolls on 8.5" air filled tires for a decently comfortable ride.

You can find these on Amazon.com.

the Inokim Light

It's completely unsurprising that Inokim makes this list for lightest electric scooters a second time with their Inokim Light model eScooter. The Inokim Light is also 26.4 pounds much like the GoTrax GXL V2 above, but this one has a few extra unique features:
  • It's made of super lightweight 6061 T6 Aluminum which has had excellent results in the auto industry.
  • It features LG battery cells which are known widely for their extremely low failure rate.
  • It features a full-function LCD display that shows a number of details about your ride.
  • It folds in under 5 seconds.
  • Also, if you have been following our Youtube Channel, you might have seen that we did a review video about the Inokim Light!

As is typical with many scooters on this list, you can ride 15 miles per hour for over 13 miles and have a super comfortable ride on 8.5" tires.

For inquiries for Inokim models, you should visit UrbanMachina.com, where you can also pick up the Inokim Light for just over $1,000.

The Xiaomi M365 is without a doubt one of the most popular eScooter models that have ever existed. I'm sure you've ridden a bunch of them too, considering that many of the eScooter rental fleets use them as one of their primary models. It's a simple scooter, with a simple display, on 8" tires that provides a decently comfortable ride and it comes at the right price.

    Xiaomi M365

You should see 18.5 miles of range at over 15 miles per hour on this 26.9 pound electric scooter.

You can buy yours today from Amazon.com, delivered right to your door.

    the Glion Dolly

The Glion Dolly: 15 miles per hour and 15 mile range on a 28 pound frame. Although we're getting into the heavier end of the spectrum here, the Glion is a true performer. A couple of things that set this scooter apart from many other eScooters is that it features the great LG battery cells we've come to know and love, and this particular model features airless tires so that you don't have to worry about having a flat tire while you're out on what should be a very relaxing ride or commute.
Segway got some notoriety for being the first company on the market with.....well, sort of a scooter design (it at least fits all the concepts of "eScooter", right?), but in the last few years have released their own true eScooter design, the Segway ES Scooter Series, that competes quite often with the Xiaomi M365. Fairly fitting, considering they have the same parent company. There are a few differences though. The Segway features a battery pack that is able to be swapped out for another battery, which makes it a little harder to be stranded when you can just throw on a second battery. It also features a better LCD display.

You can purchase a Segway ES2 today from Amazon.com.
